An Analysis on Duty Hours on School Nurses in , Elementary Schools.

Abstract
In order to invesigate and analyze the duty hours on school nurses in elementary schools, this survery was conducted during Aug. 1-2, 1979. The subjects selected were 157 teachers from 192 elementary schools in Chonnam province and the findings obtained were as follows.
1. 6 School health domains in alloted time by school nurses during the term were in order of disese preventionn and treatment (31.8% ), health consultation and guidance (16.4%), health planning and evaluation (13.8%), environmental sanitation(13.8%), and coordination of school health promotion (8.6%). The contents of extra school health affairs of total respondents (115) were reception and supplementary class and time allotment of them was 33.9% (more than l/3 of total duty hours).
2. The main school health details included the 1st priority of each domain in action were in order of cleanliness and disinfection( IV, 99.4%), school health education(III, 89.8%), emergency care( II , 77.7%), attendance at school nurse meeting (VI , 76.4%), Keeping a diary and list of fixture (V, 73.9%), and Physical examination planning and practice( I , 69.4% ). The main school health details complained of difficulties by school nurses in action were in order of physical examination planning and practice, Investigation of pupil¢¥s health Knowledge, School health education, parental health education, and Public relation with school health affairs, and the above mentioned details were almost included I, IIIdomain.
3. The main domains of school health affairs in communication with other teaching staffs were disease prevention and treatment (with classroom teacher) and environmental sanitation(with principal), and 1/5-1/4 of total respondents had poor understssanding with them.
